Acessible, low-barrier and low-cost

Using individual, privacy-conscient, data provided by the beekeeper - Honeytrail allows any beekeeper to be part of a global honey traceability system. Giving the beekeeper the choice on how much data is provided through the Honeytrail API. Once the data is validated, Honeytrail will log the data on Hedera public network, allowing for an immutable and transparent trail of honey.

Chemical
analysis has reached its limits

We have come a far way in analyzing honey through chemical analysis, however it is expensive, exclusive and is not conclusive (an ever going cat-mouse game with honey adulterants as well as known cases of false-positives).Honeytrail provides as much data as a beekeeper can and is willing to give. It does not give a certification of authentic honey, but provides the beekeeping industry with a trust layer to strengthen the already established honey supply chain.

Geographic origin

Through the automatic linking of batched honeys, the end-consumer can easily see how what percentage of the honey comes from what part of the world.If a beekeeper has opted-in for a public profile, the end-consumer would also be able to learn more about the individual beekeepers behind the honey - creating a stronger relationship with the honey, making each one unique.

Immutable and public

Honeytrail leverages the Hedera public network, a decentralized network governed by the world's most well-known companies and universities.Using this public network, it ensures that all data is publicly logged and immutable by design, making it impossible to alter.

A standard established by the industry

Honeytrail is a neutral independent initiative striving for a stronger and fairer beekeeping industry of tomorrow.
